How choosing Aluminum Tig Wire?

When welding with aluminum, you should use the correct electrode to avoid contamination. The electrode should be held at a distance of approximately three sixteenths of an inch from the weld. If you hold the electrode farther away, it's likely to contaminate the weld. As the electrode is moved closer to the weld, electrode control will improve. You must also know that aluminum is more prone to expansion than other metals. Consequently, a crater or shrink crater can occur if the weld ends abruptly.
ER308L
ER308L is an austenitic stainless steel wire that is available in 1/8 and 3/32 diameters. These wires are used in welding similar and dissimilar steels. The diameter of ER308L wire is about the same as the diameter of ER304L wire.
It has the same composition as type 308 wire, but has a lower carbon content to reduce intergranular carbide precipitation. This wire is especially good for welding 304L, 321/316, and 347 stainless steel. It also performs well at cryogenic temperatures. In addition, it is ideal for welding in the chemical and petrochemical industries.
ER308L Aluminum Tig Wire is commonly used in welding stainless steel, but you can also use it for welding various types of steel. This wire is made of 0.03% carbon content, which makes it an excellent choice for welding stainless steels. In addition, the wire's arc has low spatter and a thin coating.
ER308L is the best choice for welding stainless steel and aluminum. Its diameter is determined by the thickness of the stock. For example, if the base metal is less than an eighth-inch thick, you should choose a thinner rod. However, if the base metal thickness is more than 1/8-inch, you should use ER308L for welding.
ER5356
ER5356 Aluminum Tig Wire is an all-position, non-heat treatable wire used for welding 5XXX series aluminum alloys. This wire is a good all-purpose choice that is suitable for a wide range of applications. Its most common uses include boats and ships, bicycles, tanks, pressure vessels, and automotive parts. Its corrosion resistance and high temperature stability are other important considerations when choosing an aluminum filler metal.
ER5356 Aluminum Tig Wire has a high shear strength. It also offers outstanding corrosion resistance, especially in salt water. It is a great choice for welding 5000 series aluminum base metals, such as aluminum plates. It can be used in many different applications, including shipbuilding, automotive, and truck panels.
ER309L
ER309L is an austenitic stainless steel TIG welding wire that is one-eighth inch in diameter. It is designed for welding similar and dissimilar steels. It is available in different sizes for different applications. ER309L wire can be used for a variety of welding purposes.
ER309L has the same mechanical properties as ER309 but has a lower carbon content. This makes it a better choice for cladding applications over carbon steel, as well as heat treated joints. Its chemistry depends on the type of flux used and the thickness of the stock.
ER309L is a versatile alloy that can weld a variety of metals. It is the most common welding wire for mild steel and can be used in most stainless steel applications. It is 12% silicon, making it excellent for welding aluminum castings. Because it has high temperature and high corrosion resistance, ER309L is excellent for welding a variety of different materials.
ER5556 Aluminum Welding Wire
Comparing with 5356, 5556 has more Magnesium and Manganese, which has higher strength, better tenacity, higher corrosion resistance and better welding performance, recommended for welding alloy of 5000 series, 6000 series, 7000 series, such as 5050, 5052, 5083, 5456, 6005A, 6061,6063,6082,7005 etc..
